FIRSTLY WE WOULD LIKE TO
APOLOGISE TO BOTH OUR VISITORS AND PADSTOW PARISH CHURCH FOR THE INCORRECT
ADVICE PREVIOUSLY GIVEN ON THIS SITE ABOUT A CAROL SERVICE ON 7TH DECEMBER.
THIS WAS BASED ON INFORMATION RECEIVED WHICH TURNED OUT TO BE INACCURATE.
SO PLEASE NOTE THAT THERE IS NOT GOING TO BE A CHRISTMAS CAROL
SERVICE ON 7TH DECEMBER.
From
December 4th – 7th 2008 the beautiful Cornish town of Padstow invites you to a
deluxe Christmas event. Escape the madness of Christmas shopping in the big
cities and get away from it all in our
relaxing harbour town. Our boutique shops will be staying open for late night
Christmas shopping, while some great Christmas themed food suppliers, organic
producers, and one-off gift purveyors all local to Padstow will be offering
their wares across the weekend.
With twinkling Christmas lights around the harbour – the town is a perfect
romantic winter getaway. Join us on the harbour where our illustrious wine bar
Bin Two will host carols round the Christmas tree. Mulled wine and mince pies
will keep you warm and a brass band will accompany.
The town’s array of shops will stay open until late to provide great Christmas
shopping opportunities. Choose from local vintage-style homewares at Teri
Water’s and crafts at Dukeswood to Tidings that sells Christmas goods
year-round. Well known brands such as Fat Face and White Stuff will throw also
be throwing their doors open. Perfect if you need to shop after hours.
Padstow’s celebrity chef Rick Stein will be signing copies of his latest book
for visitors at Stein’s Deli on Saturday 6th December. The Seafood Restaurant is
offering a three course lunch menu for £28.50. St Petroc’s Bistro is offering a
three course lunch menu for £17.50 and there will be seasonal food
demonstrations at the Seafood School on the 5th December.
And for something a little different? Our piece de resistance. Padstow’s first
ever Christmas Market harks after the traditional Christmas markets. Choose from
gifts from artisan producers local to Padstow. With a wide range of food, drink
and homewares we have the perfect Christmas presents all wrapped up in Padstow.
End the weekend with a hearty Sunday lunch at Padstow’s world-famous
array of restaurants and pubs.
And when the Christmas festivities have captured you for as long as possible –
head towards the unspoilt coastline to blow the cobwebs away and stroll along
peaceful beaches free of the summer crowds.
